It was FYP presentation today. Woke up earlier than usual. Neighbourhood bus got screwed up. Had to be in school by 7.30am And at 7am, there wasn't any bus in sight. Ended up hailing a taxi and managed to reach school in time. During the last minute dry run, My team's software got cock up 15 mins before the presentation. Although the motor could run, It did not obey the codes. Strangely, it could work ytd. No comments to that. Because no one's to blame. The bloody circuit board decided to pms us at the eleventh hour. Well done, board! What I can say is that it's just not our day.
During presentation, I was annoyed by the nonsensical question the director inquired. It was irrelevant to the purpose of my project. Director: So what is this liquid that helped in the amplification of DNA? *I thought I heard wrongly as this type of qnshldn't be out of a director's mouth* Me: I beg your pardon? Director: What is this liquid in the test tube? Me: I'm not quite sure as our project only focuses on the software part. The liquid part should be under SAS ( School of Applied Chem) Director: But since you are doing on the thermal cycler, aren't you suppose to touch on everything in it? *after some murmuring from my team mates* Me: The liquid is Enzymtic Catalyst. Director: ohhhEnzymtic Catalyst. ok.. you can carry on. !!!!!!!!! After that, it came to this slide where we had a picture on the thermal cycler. Director: So what is that picture on your right? *As heading of the slide shows, Current phase of a thermal cycler* Team: It is a picture on the thermal cycler. Director: So what is the difference in these 3 thermal cyclers shown there? Team: It is just the different models. Director: oh..then where do you put the test tube in for amplification? Team: You see the open lid in the picture, the test tube will be put in there. Director: oh ok.. -_________________________________- I was astonished such a qn was asked by the DIRECTOR of SEG.
As my team and I had to unwind after the presentation, We went to Vivo to catch "Rush Hour 3" Roy and I smuggled BK in. Thanks to Hock Boon's big yet empty bag. lol. Overall, it's a hilarious show The middle part got a little boring that I almost fell asleep. But I managed to be awake because at that moment, Roy passed me the box of popcorn. hahaha! :D As I had insufficient sleep these few days, went to Gloria Jean for coffee. Hock Boon and DuanHua gave Roy and I some riddle to solve. After hearing Roy's and Hock Boon's guesses to the answer, I couldn't help but laugh very loudly. Both of them make a good match at "Just for Laughs".
As I was still feeling hungry, Our next stop was HaagenDaz. Bought a single scoop Rum and Raisin. It seems that everytime when I'm feeling low, Rum and raisin would cheer me up. It really made my day. :)
